BloombergSept. 11 (Bloomberg) — Riots continued in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, today as protesters blockaded roads, damaged cars, looted shops and set fire to a police station after storming the building and freeing prisoners, Information Minister Kabakumba Matsiko said.“In spite of the suddenness and the generalized violence, the situation was swiftly brought under control by the quick response of the Uganda police with the support of sister security agencies,” Matsiko said. The city and its suburbs are all back to normal, she said.
